Whenever I go out on the motor bike with my sandals, my feet are black because of the street water. It's so gross! Mother nature can not make up her mind with the weather; it really is spring! A few weeks ago it was really hot and humid. We had a week of just rain and nothing else; it was the worst! It also was very overcast for that week, with no sun at all. It was pretty humid too, which means that nothing ever dries. I don't understand how people do their laundry when they have to dry it outside on the balcony. The majority of the people here don't have washing machines, dryers, or dishwashers. Recently it has been very hot as we turn more towards summer. I'm glad that I won't be here in the middle of summer, I can't imagine how hot and humid it can get here.
The land here is mostly flat in Hanoi. As you go farther north toward China it starts to get more hilly. It is so green here with all the vegetation. They have palm trees all over, even along the highway. The government keeps the public areas nice, especially the road that all the foreigners take from the airport or to the main countryside locations. In people's homes on the balconies they have plants growing or hanging onto the street.
Below are photos of places around Hanoi
P.S. I'm sorry I'm three weeks behind on my blog...editing photos is killing me. But it will all be updated soon!
